My "first love"
One of my happiest days was when I received a camera for Christmas when I was in junior high. I soon feel in love with landscape photography. I cherished every opportunity to get in nature and try to capture the grandeur of the outdoors. I've now spent a total of more than two years of my life camping, and that passion for capturing beautiful landscapes never subsided.
The Garden of the Gods is a treasure for the Colorado Springs community. I have now begun a personal photography project of photographing the Garden during the next couple of years. These photos are the first installment in that project. The top photo reminds me of the reason Katharine Lee Bates wrote "America the Beautiful" while in Colorado Springs and why she included the line "purple mountain majesties." Indeed. That purple light just before sunrise is magical.
